English
主播A:Good afternoon. Welcome back to Echo Snippet. 主播B:Last time we talked about slowing down. Today we're asking for something even smaller. Just look up at the window. 主播A:The twenty-third of this month is the autumn equinox. On that day, daytime and night-time are almost exactly the same length. 主播B:After the equinox, the days start to taper off. Which means from now on, it gets darker and darker when you leave school. 主播A:It's a nudge — autumn's already half gone. 主播B:Honestly, the easiest thing to miss about autumn is the light. 主播A:Summer light comes straight down. At noon it's so strong you can't lift your head. Autumn light comes in sideways, though. It slips in from the side of the window and lands on your desk. Behind it, it drags a long shadow. 主播B:If you sit near a window, you've probably clocked it already. These past two weeks, the angle of that sunlight on your desk has quietly shifted. 主播A:Japanese has a word for exactly this kind of light. It's 木漏れ日 — komorebi. 主播B:It means sunlight filtering through the gaps in the leaves, scattered on the ground as patches of moving light. 主播A:What makes it special is that it holds three things at once: the light, the leaves, and the wind. 主播B:The leaves move, so the light moves. That's why it never sticks around — you can't pin it down. 主播A:If you ask me, that's the point of autumn. It doesn't ask you to do anything big. It just sets small, light things down in front of you. 主播B:A leaf starting to turn. A wind that's suddenly cold. A beam of light that's moved somewhere new. 主播A:You don't have to do anything about them. If you notice them, they're already yours. 主播B:That's all for today. Thanks for listening. And when you walk out of the classroom — look up. (Honestly / If you ask me)之后要有半个气口。 读音提示:equinox /ˈiːkwɪnɒks/ 秋分、昼夜平分点 · komorebi /ko̞mo̞ɾe̞bi/ 木漏れ日 · filtering /ˈfɪltərɪŋ/ 滤过 · taper off /ˈteɪpər ɒf/ 逐渐减少、慢慢变短 · nudge /nʌdʒ/ 提醒、轻推 · clock /klɒk/ (口语)注意到、看出来 · pin down /ˌpɪn ˈdaʊn/ 固定住、按住 | |
