English
主播A:Good afternoon. Welcome back to Echo Snippet. 主播B:Today's a practical one — we're talking about how to actually get things to stick. 主播A:Look, let's start with where most people go wrong. 主播B:Be honest — when you revise, do you read the chapter over again and highlight the same lines? 主播A:It feels easy, and then you shut the book and your mind goes blank. 主播B:That's because "it looks familiar" and "I can actually say it" are two different things. 主播A:Psychologists have a name for this — they call it the fluency illusion. 主播B:The more smoothly you read, the more you mistake that for knowing it. 主播A:The fix is simple: read it once, then shut the book. 主播B:Grab a blank sheet and write down whatever comes back to you. 主播A:The bits you can't write down are the bits you haven't really learned. 主播B:The second method is called spaced review. 主播A:Over a hundred years ago, a psychologist named Ebbinghaus mapped out a forgetting curve. 主播B:New material slips away fastest in the first few hours. 主播A:So the best moment to review is right when you're on the verge of forgetting it. 主播B:Here's the thing: a review plan only works if it's genuinely easy to keep to. 主播A:Once that evening, and once the next morning. 主播B:Then after three days, then a week, then a month. 主播A:Add those five up, and it comes to less than a third of the time you'd spend relearning it. That's why it pays off. 主播B:Honestly, the third one is the easiest to brush aside: sleep. 主播A:What you take in during the day gets sorted and filed away while you sleep. 主播B:So those two pages you forced in last night are probably half gone by morning. 主播A:So hang on to three things: shut the book, space out your reviews, and get some sleep. 主播B:That's all for today — thanks for listening, and good luck with the next test. 合:See you next time, everyone. 读音提示:fluency /ˈfluːənsi/ 流畅 · illusion /ɪˈluːʒn/ 错觉 · Ebbinghaus /ˈebɪŋhaʊs/ 艾宾浩斯 · on the verge of /ɒn ðə vɜːdʒ əv/ 即将、快要 · brush aside /brʌʃ əˈsaɪd/ 搁到一边、不重视 · it comes to /ɪt kʌmz tuː/ 加起来达到 · filed away /faɪld əˈweɪ/ 归档存放 | |
